Monday 3rd January

After a morning felling a couple of small trees and chopping logs, I ventured out to do the usual tempo ride across to Boroughbridge and then over the top of Brimham Rocks. It's a session I've done hundreds of times, in all weathers.

I dropped a big clanger, fooled by working hard in the garden, I missed the point that it was one degree Celsius and under dressed.............very rare. Perhaps understandably, I thought I would warm up but when I hit the cold Northwesterly at Boroughbridge, I started to chill. I got colder and colder until my HR started to slow down drastically and I dropped into an vicios circle of getting colder-going slower-getting colder still.

The shame is that the sting in the tail of this route is what really gives me the zip in 25's and 50's.....the ability to pile it on in the final stages.

So a bit of a waste of time.

Thursday is the next opportunity.............Turbo NEVER
