Another Tuesday, another early session. I'm sure it's my brain but why is it that some days the wind blows so hard and cold?
It was just great to ride without a thought of hidden ice but hell, what a cold wind. Those who know me from TTing will know that I ride at a low pedaling speed. Yesterday was one of those 'special days' where the wind blows steadily without gusts from the northwest over Bland Hill. This is great for me because it gives me a fifteen minute stretch in the session with relentless high resistance - it really brings me on. If I'm confident and fit I can hold the big ring over there into the wind. If I'm not I won't. Yesterday I didn't, but I'm not far off.
I'm mulling over the National Trophy at Rutland. It's a long way to go but it's also my last chance of a cx race for eight months. On the negative side, if I don't ride and the weathers not terrible, I have the opportunity to do back to back quality tempo rides..........and let's face it I've missed a few of these through the worst of the weather & racing..............
I'm even thinking about a weekly turbo session............Never!
